The exact same formula as modern pop. However in 1978 it wasnt tired and worn put, like it has been for the last 35 years. A decent album. However it has always been generic pop. A timelass classic compared to moder mainstream garbage for Millenials and Gen Zs.

its time to leave the "old music good new music bad" thing behind there are so many great modern pop albums that are just very very fun too

Ever since 1983 Pop has been a garbage stain on music. That year is when record companies took full control of artists and they were all created by think tanks. You had some good pop albums spread throughout the 80's, but the decline in quality especially after the 70's was extremely noticeable and now.... I'm good.

Truly a masterpiece and highlight of the AOR era of rock music. The synths, new wave, and pop/power pop inflections are infections. A definitive no-skips record. I didn't expect to love it so much lol

So excellent. This album had one foot in the past (1950s rock) and one in the future. Hawkes plays so minimally, yet so creatively.

This album plays like a greatest hits record and it's only their first. [2] Every song is easily a No.1 ht <3

My favourite album of all times and has been since the day I first heard it in '78. My only negative is that it's too short, but then again it fits from, umm, side to side. No songs to be skipped here. Everybody that I give this too that has never heard it falls in love with it. Timeless, and that's what it's all about.

In 9 songs clocking 'bout 35 minutes, the template for basically anything pop/rock in the next decade. Talk about being visionary...
