Biography
"The Charming Youngsters apply jangle and swing to radio-ready rock, as if Alex Chilton replaced Dave Grohl at the front of Foo Fighters. The band formed in the same gritty house-show scene that spawned Lonnie Walker, The Love Language, Valient Thorr and Future Islands." - Corbie Hill, Independent Weekly
The Charming Youngsters have evolved from quirky folk duo into a jangly, noiserock powerhouse. Since their formation in Greenville in the late 00's, The Youngsters now call Raleigh/Durham home.
Live, the band plays as if the earth were ending around them, singing barn-burning songs about paranoia, death, love, and monsters, recalling the nervousness of They Might Be Giants, the sarcasm of Pavement, the pop smarts of Weezer, and the drama of The Flaming Lips.
