As we stumble ever further into the 21st century, you’d be forgiven for thinking that maybe popular music hasn’t got much left in the locker in terms of surprises. But Grammy award nominated US electronic giants The Crystal Method have had a good go at just that by employing the services of Hasidic toaster Matisyahu on the first single from their much anticipated fourth studio album, “Divided by Night” .
And any thoughts of novelty value are quickly dispelled by the toasters’ mix of sureshot rapping and ethereal
chants, underpinned by the TCM’s trademark driving beats and scuzzed out bass, to create a winning combination, and an assured opening salvo in what will no doubt be another dynamic album campaign.
