Finally I have realised how different this is from The Cure's other works. It is a little similar to Seventeen Seconds, given how atmospheric and ethereal it is, but this album is more lush, dense and also warmer, despite the music belonging to a cold, gray day.

"The album's cover, designed by former and future member Porl Thompson, is a veiled picture of the church Bolton Priory, in the fog." i did not know that

This is the first album I ever bought on vinyl, so, admittedly, a large part of my love for it comes from nostalgia. That being said, this is a fantastic, timeless album. The production is especially nice (quite an upgrade from Seventeen Seconds) and the songs seem to be a bit more idiosyncratic than those on previous albums. For me, this is my third favourite record from The Cure, behind Pornography and Disintegration (both being straight 10/10s in my mind). Anyway, you might not like it at first, but I'd keep at it if I were you. It's one of my favourites.

4 first songs are the best A side the cure ever made, too bad the second half is a bit underwelming. Still, one of my favourite albums ever. All Cats Are Grey is criminally underrated.
