Released on June 21, 2007, The Shadow Out of Tim is a concept album loosely based on H.P. Lovecraft's short story "The Shadow Out of Time." Musically, the album continues the stylistic progression seen between Cthulhu Strikes Back and Spaceship Zero. The sound is a mixture of power pop, punk, and stoner rock in the vein of Queens of the Stone Age.
