Biography
Since hitting the music scene in 2006, The Foxery has continually expanded its horizons, refined its sound, and toured the Midwest and South wooing audiences in coffee shops, small venues, and night clubs in Louisville, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Nashville, Atlanta and more; opening for the likes of Ra Ra Riot and Circa Survive. They have also been featured on several college radio stations as well as WFPK's Live Lunch….Their debut studio EP, Life is Still Beautiful, was released in December 2011 during their winter tour. Drawing upon influences such as Pedro the Lion, and Manchester Orchestra, The Foxery has developed its own unique brand of indie-rock. As such, the band has crafted a series of songs that continually build momentum, characterized by syncopated rhythms enlisted by percussionists Joseph Humphrey and Travis Beck, interwoven with driving guitar riffs and bass lines powered by the addition of 2 new members, Mike Stewart and Dean Bryant. The Foxery's sound is encased by the centerpiece of vocalist Calvin Fackler's touching songwriting and personal stories, portrayed in his styling with vocals that linger in juxtapositions of belting urgency and melodic rounded charm. The new EP is thrilling, soulful, and promising as it leaves the listener wanting more, but only because the 7 song EP makes you wonder what kind of magical music this band could create if given the opportunity to lay down just a few more tracks. Check out a live show, you won't be disappointed!
