Biography
The Gifthorse were an Australian melodic punk band hailing from Brisbane, Queensland. The band consisted of vocalist Shane Collins, drummer Luke Gal, guitarist Stephen Scott, bassist Adam Brady and guitarist Matt Bach. The band were originally together from 2006 to 2010, with a one-off reunion show at the Poison City Weekender in 2011 and a permanent reunion from 2013 to 2018.The band released two studio albums - The Gifthorse (2008) and Give My Body to This Town (2014). Other releases included a 2006 demo, a 2009 EP (From the Floor Up) and a 2009 split seven-inch with The Phoenix Foundation; as well as a 2013 compilation album, Collection. Members of the band have also played in bands such as Fires of Waco and Headaches. The band ended following the passing of lead vocalist Shane Collins.
