The Gurus are a power pop influenced psychedelic rock band from Barcelona, Spain. Made up of musicians Josep Pons, Emili Ramirez, and Serio Bartel, the group has released four albums through Rainbow Quartz records since they formed in 1996. Their self-titled debut album, 2004's 'The Gurus', was modeled after The Beatles' classic album 'Revolver' It received favorable reviews from Exclaim Magazine, Spill Magazine, and the Ottawa Express. The latter referred to the album as "a gem from some hipster's garage sale" with a "warm, dreamy, pretend-every-day-is-sunny feel".
The group released a sophomore work titled 'The Swing of Things' in 2006. They followed that up with 'Now' in 2008, featuring a more hard rock and guitar pop style reminiscent of The Kinks. Their latest album, 'Closing Circles', was released in 2010.
