Martsch shouldn't sing on this one, it's a bit too much. Where's all the guitar workmanship? A bit unimpressive considering their cachet.

Your Asterisk is their best song with its wonderful lyrics, perfect tempo and Marsch's background guitar notes flying in all directions. I have to admit that few of their songs are as good as this one, but a some are, for example Rebels Got a Hole in It. I put that one on almost every time I was making out with a girl (back in the days). It is worth having that song on any let's make out/have sex-playlist. You will be rewarded in both sex and indie-cred.

I actually never saw that highway patrol video until like, two weeks ago when someone on /mu/ linked me to it. So fucking lovely, such a lovely band. I'd love it if they'd do another album, or just another reunion tour. I'd go fuckin well out of my way to see them live.

"it sounds like someone just put beat happening and built to spill on top of each other" exactly. but somehow i like this better than either beat happening or built to spill
