Biography

The Incisors are a four-piece band from North-East London. Two of the members, Jake (vocals, bass and keyboard) and Chris (drums, vocals, keyboard), are childhood friends from Cornwall, and Jerry (vocals, guitar and keyboard) moved to Cornwall five years ago to fly helicopters with the Royal Navy. These three moved to London in 2008 and added Rummy Keshet to the line-up in early 2010…

Since arriving in London, they have compiled a huge catalogue of around 50 songs. A demo CD was released in May, 2009, which showcases seven of these songs. Currently, "Indonesia" is becoming a hit in Indonesia with fan-made videos and countless discussion forums promoting the song. The 5-song EP, "We All Have Stories" became available in April 2010…

Jake and Jerry typically bring the lyrics and basic structures for the songs to the group, where the final musical ingredients are tastefully added. "Girlfriend" and "Nightmare" are noteworthy exceptions - each the result of a band collaboration from start to finish. Indeed, all four members will contribute the odd lyrical phrase or musical idea from time to time, making The Incisors' distinct sound the product of the band as a team…

The Incisors have recorded and produced the majority of their own material - using their own equipment and expertise. The "Demo EP - 2009" was, however, recorded at Ignition Studios in Manor House, London (with the exception of opening track, "Day Sleepings", which was recorded in Jake/Jerry's front room and mixed at Jake's house and then mastered at Ignition Studios). "We All Have Stories" was recorded at Bally's Studios in Tottenham Hale, London and mixed at Jake's house…

Recently collaborating with fellow artists, "After the Ice" and "Girls Girls Girls," The Incisors are making an impact on the North-East London live music scene as part of the new "Fractured City Collective" or "FCC" for short. The objective of this alliance is to work around promoters whose control over gig nights is not in keeping with the likely tastes of the audiences - by putting metal and indie bands back to back etc. To circumnavigate this, the three bands (who met at Bally Studios) have decided to combine their industry and scene-based resources to create FCC gig nights, in which the three bands play together. This guarantees that the audience will be listening to 3 bands of a similar musical persuasion. Happy bands + happy audiences = big win for everybody!
