Ah, fuckin' Hendrix, man, that's some serious shit you're laying down. "Are You Experienced?" is a goddamn masterpiece, no argument there. The way Jimi tore up the fuckin' rulebook and blasted us with "Purple Haze" and "Hey Joe," it's like a punch to the face of rock ‘n’ roll, in the best fuckin' way. Mitchell and Redding, yeah, those bastards knew how to lay down a groove that could kick you in the teeth and kiss you sweetly at the same fuckin' time. It's a goddamn crime how short Jimi’s trip was, but shit, did he leave a mark or what? And that reissue, fuck, it’s like they knew we needed every last drop of that Hendrix magic in one place. So, what's your take on the album's fusion of different musical styles, eh? Does it blow your mind how it all comes together, or what?

Classic. Obviously. Jimi is the main attraction here of course but bassist Noel Redding and especially drummer Mitch Mitchell are equally fantastic. I was shocked that Miles Davis didn't like Jimi's rhythm section and compared it to "hillbilly country music" in his autobiography. But one listen to songs like “Manic Depression" and it's clear that even the greatest musical geniuses can be wrong sometimes.

Jimi didn’t like the UK album art and personally selected the album art for the US version. Say whatever you want about question marks and track listings, but I’m going with what Jimi himself wanted.

UK art is essential for this one since this has the UK track listing. The other page with the question mark has the US track listing so that shouls have the US art. Best of both worlds!

It's not about "preferring" one cover to the other -- or at least it shouldn't be. The album released in the UK first and this is the UK track listing, so it should be the UK cover art.

I don't think it would be possible to state my viewpoint any more calmly and rationally, but thanks for your concern.

One of the greatest debut albums of all time. It's absurd how consistently great every song is and how many have gone on to become classics. My personal favorites are the one-two punch of "I Don't Live Today" and "The Wind Cries Mary." Also, as amazing as the guitar work is here, I'd like to give some respect to Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell, who made up one of the best rhythm sections in 60s rock.

Yes, the american cover is different from the UK one and also from the covers of many other european states like Italy, France and Spain.
