“Purple Haze” gave us the Hendrix chord, but it’s the last song on Electric Ladyland that captured Jimi at his finest. With a killer opening riff, his signature wah-wah pedal and one of the greatest solos ever, “Voodoo Child (Slight Return)” showcases Jimi’s electric guitar talents to a tee. In concert, the original Seattle rocker could even be found jamming to an 18-minute version! Musical innovator indeed. -- watchmojo

rhoads. It's not morally wrong to hold that belief. It's just factually incorrect. :]

Is it wrong to say that I think SRV's version is better? No disrespect in the least, just an opinion. [2] I'm actually torn on this one. I like that SRV's version has an ending instead of the fade-out on the studio version from Ladyland which has always bugged me. But Jimi out-did himself live with this song time and time again so it's hard for me to choose who does it better. But I wouldn't say it's "wrong" to say haha. After all Hendrix is famous for blowing Dylan out of the water with his version of Watchtower so who's to say Jimi is untouchable?
