Biography

XERO (Jashae Slaughter) is an American Pop Singer, Christian Rapper, and Producer. He is the founding member and creative force behind "The Legend of XERO", a collection of songs and stories centered around a Superhero who has become a Christian.

XERO grew up in the South side of Saginaw, MI where he learned to hone his skills as an R&B singer. Raised in church, he dedicated his gift to Christ at a very young age. He Moved to Bay City, in 1996, where he attended high school. It was there he adapted the musical styles of rock, choir, pop, and barbershop. In 1999, he returned to his home town where he began to delve into the world of Rave culture. After some time in the party scene he started a hard rock band (Midori) and began to make a name in his home town. The band lost momentum when their drummer of 3 years left town to attend school, but that didn't stop them.

XERO used his knowledge of DJing and Rave Culture to program backing tracks for the bassist and guitarists to play to, in order to create a sound that would become the very base for Neo-Rock. Mixing Club culture with Hard Rock, they blended styles of Hip-Hop, Techno, Rock, and Dance-Pop to create a sort of "Dance Rock" and began performing in Nightclubs.

After a 6 year run the band finally parted ways and XERO began work on his solo projects. During that time, XERO released 3 albums under the name Adiaphora: Obsolete, The Sum of Love and Hate, and Guardians of the Heart. None of these albums made much of a buzz and quickly died off, causing XERO to pursue different career choices.

In 2008 he officially became a Christian and joined The Church in Drive in Saginaw, MI. After attending and studying there for about 6 months he took a position as the Worship Leader and began to study the strange new world of Christian/Worship Music. Using the skills of his past, he now uses video, live guitar and backing tracks to perform his art that he dubs "NEO".

In the fashion of the old texts, the project was divided into 2 parts. The new name was called, "The Legend of XERO". XERO's reason for this is based on God's tendency to change the names of his servants once that servant has become committed to God's calling.
