  • Founded In

    Haugesund, Rogaland, Norway

The Low Frequency in Stereo are a group that was founded in February 2000 in a small town called Haugesund in Norway. The music is primarily instrumental. Their work has progressed beyond dogmatic post- rock to incorporate elements from prog, surf, jazz, pop and noiserock - without jeopardising the ambient guitar flow that was their trademark from the outset.

They have had great success both in Norway and internationally and have played renowned festivals like Quart, Dour and South By Southwest

David Fricke - Senior Editor – Rolling Stone described the concert in Austin , Texas 2005 like this:
The music is a mixture of the long solo elements in "the Doors" set to the raptide of Joy Division's “transmission” with the surf guitar twang of Dick Dale. They are the Coolest Rulers from Scandinavia!

Their third album 'The Last Temptation Of…The Low Frequency In Stereo Vol. 1', was released on the 20th of March 2006 to many great reviews. The album was recorded in Crystal Canyon, the studio of Knut Schreiner (Euroboys, Turbonegro) and Anders Møller (Euroboys), and was also produced by Anders Møller.

In 2009 their fourth album 'Futuro' surfaced.
