The Magus was started in 2003 by Harvey O'Sullivan and Robin Stone who both lived in the small Australian town of Wingello (population 800 approx.) Recording in their bedrooms onto a 4-track cassette helped to alleviate the sleepy-town boredom.
Over the years they adapated their sound, going through dream-pop, electronic experimental noise, metal and shoegazing to come up with their own genre which they call "CLOUDSTARING"
