Bursting out of Staffordshire's thriving 'jam night' scene The Muffcakes mix tight Chicago-style blues with the looser, more progressive, Mississippi hill country sounds. Built around the extraordinary talents of lead guitarist Rich Matthews, the band thrives on the unique interplay between Rich and front man Pete Wearn (vocal, harmonica & slide). The warm meandering style of bassist Kris Grainger drives the group and sets it apart from other electric blues bands.
