Recover is not what we were waiting for. Recovers is NOT TNaF. TNaF is dead, RIP.

I like Recover well enough, but "Broods soundalike" isn't the direction I expected or hoped for from TNAF.

A band changes their style and fans complain about the new direction. Samy story as always.

I guess everything i wanted from the new album was already dropped on the singles, like Bury Us reminds their old stuff. I really love that energy they used to put in songs. But i will try to enjoy a little more

long gone the days when the band released good tunes. I guess the great ideas in the debut and the good ideas on their second are now vanished. Being an artist can be hard, rip.

My favourite was In Rolling Waves. Simple Forms was a big drop. Listening to Recover now. Not sure I will recover. Why do so many bands go to the generic pop sound? It's not going to bring them new fans.

i think the same i guess.. though to me passive me is the best still and i enjoy it more.. c'mon it was a blast when it came out. Such fresh sound by them. It all went puff with simple forms indeed.

Ouvi demais o Passive Me na época. Ontem ouvi o novo disco e senti muita falta daquelas musicas agitadas deles

I'm really sorry the band has broken apart (Btw: never and nowhere read about the reasons why. Does someone know more about it?). Might be correct that Alisa and Thom always have been the substance of "The naked and famous", but dissasembling a working formation merciless like this often ended in a huge loss of soul and vibe before ... and it here it seems to happen again. I agree with Akmol, what is out by now feels quite dissapointing. But I still really hope I am wrong.

I'm hopeful, as well. Though I don't enjoy the second single as much, "Sunseeker" is as addictive as a song can possibly be!

Why does the e-mail I got from a musical project named "Space Above" mentions the following: "It's been almost two years since my departure from The Naked And Famous."...? I thought these guys were going to break up but ended up not doing so (thus leading to the release of "Simple Forms")? Is this band over, after all?

But is this the definitive end? Or just a hiatus? I don't recall ever being an official statement regarding the band's break up.

I just need to hear some new music from them to get properly reassured. But I'm hopeful they're still active.

I can't remember why I've started listening to them, but I'm glad I did, they're one of my favourite bands, now.

Was a pleasure seeing them live, even if they couldn't reach the perfection from their studio recordings. Therefor they managed to put more of their rock/indie side across. What I've often read about before even happend here: the sound wasn't very balanced - a lot of bass, sometimes to much to recognize the vocals! So much the better was the lightshow, especially for a relatively small venue like Kantine, Cologne. Well deliberated and convenient with their albums themes and concepts. [Excursion: why they always pronounce it Kantien? Even on the tour shirt ... a 'running mistake'? Translator identifies it as African :P.] Looking forward for the next time :)!

im starting to hate this band for never coming to sweden... all of scandinavia, except for sweden gets their gig. the fact that sweden is placed in the middle of the three other countries should make easier for people from nearby countries to come see them in gothenburg... so bohoo.. i was hoping to at least see them once before i die..

You should live in Portugal to see what it's truly like to be ignored by bands touring all over Europe, then. But I feel ya.

well, im guessing the ticket people are to blame.. since the same thing happened with crippled black phoenix.. it wasnt the bands decision, it was the greedy ticket companies who decided to screw us all over who had already paid for our gothenburg ticket.. so not only are they getting screwed on the record sales anymore, the ticket agencies have the final say about where they get to play... and they dont give a shit about their fans.

Yeah, there's not a lot of compassion in that business and the artists often have very little control in the matter.

Now that I've listened to the new album a thousand times already (or close enough), I am finally enjoying it fully and it has become a current favourite album of mine. What it lacks in the maturity of "In Rolling Waves", it makes up for it in bouncy butt action. Yes, it's a grower, if you're truly decided to stick to it. It's still TNAF, all the way. My favourite tracks are "Higher" (could easily have been a lost track from "Passive Me, Aggressive You"), Rotten (gotta love that syncopated beat) and "The Water Beneath You" (a true dancefloor hit, if it had the necessary media exposure). What are yours?

Its me again. After listening the album more times, I just realize that its a concept different from the others albums. But doenst mean that its bad. I'm in love with the aesthetics of this new CD and Alyisa and Thom's voices. Thank you so much for sharing this songs with us. <3

After having listened to "Simple Forms" for the first time, I feel that the album is true to its title. Overall, songs feel less "busy", simpler in their melodies, lacking the usual anthem-like chorus and ear candy of the sound of their previous albums. It's not a bad effort, it's by no means a bad album but, like some people have been mentioning, it's less than what everyone wanted it to be. It's still solid pop music, it just has less sugar in it this time around. Also, it seems to be their most electronic sounding album to date, with lots of THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP, which may also be why people are disliking it more. There are some genuinely good songs in there, so I hope if we give the album enough of our time and attention, it will reward us with a better listening experience in the end.
