my favorite album ever. changed my life when i discovered it in April 2022 and even now it blows me away with every listen. it's that rare combination of endlessly replayable, enjoyable pop comfort food AND a brave, artsy, unabashedly weird album that sounds like nothing else before or since. it feels like a friend to me.

A masterpiece. Bravo. Gives me chills. Kurt Dahle's drumming is superb and wildly creative.

"Listening too long to one song" - or one album for that matter. TWIN CINEMA is just marvelous! One great tune after another. Splendid playing and singing. Very idiosyncratic and ornate, while absolutely inviting to hum along to at the same time. This masterpiece isn't slowing down at all, it's just perfect from start to finish. Can't get enough. :)

Absolutely brilliant, and so simply *pleasureable* to listen to. And then you realise that behind it all is some serious and intelligent craft.

I think I almost prefer the second half over the first. The whole thing is really great, though.

Twenty years from now or so, this album should be thought of as a classic... If not, there is something very very wrong with the world ;)

Why is the track list messed up? The songs are in the proper order but the numbers are repeated at times! Also, There is a bonus track for this album if you get the Japanese or iTunes versions of it. (The Japan release is hard to get but I'm going to get it some day)

I don't know about the rest of you but at first I didn't like The New Pornographers, Now they're the band I listen to the most all because of this album and my knowledge that not all music (Very little, actually) Appeals at first. It may have taken over a month before I started listening to Challengers and Electric Version but Twin Cinema kept me listening to them as they grew on me. Then when I started listening to Challengers I kept going and now I have some of the members' other albums.

In my opinion this is the album that's hardest to get into. With their first album the feel of awesomeness was immidiately there, but with this one it wasn't en still isn't. 'Electric version' is the one I listened the most according to Last.fm but I still adore 'Mass Romantic'. The last one ('Challengers') got me back into this band, after this one. Anyone had the same experience? Don't know why...

The trifecta of The Bleeding Heart Show,Jackie Dressed In Cobras and The Jessica Numbers is worth the price of admission alone.Wonderful album.
