Nickle plated burners? Classic album. Sorry to be controversial but Life After Death pales in comparison to this.

I think the top songs on Life After Death are better than the top songs on this but this is more consistent

I love Life after Death but I definitely believe it could've been trimmed down more (as evidence by the clean version's tracklist). My favorite tracks are Hypnotize, Kick in the Door, Sky's the Limit, I Got a Story to Tell, Going Back to Cali, Ten Crack Commandments, & Mo Money Mo Problems.

Epic storytelling, yet so casual in the way it's delivered. It's absolutely brilliant

Laid back and relentlessly urgent at the same time, uplifting and dark at the same time too... such a brilliant creative achievement. BIG was one of the finest MC's to ever master both the rhythm and the poetry part of RAP to its fullest and illest.

A legend in the game. The backing /lyrics/flow and not to mention Many Many samples from some of the most Crispiest tracks on the planet add such a flavor and dynamic to Christopher's already unparalleled ability to stack rhymes on top of rhymes in this 1994 debut album and braggadocio rap classic. You really get a feel of what it was like growing up on the streets of newyork in the late 70's 80's. If you would for a moment close your eyes while listing to any of these tracks in full you could see and feel exactly what Chris was painting on his canvas thru the eyes of the artist. No b.s just pure real uncut raw street life and what it meant to be poor. I should have shouted/reviewed this album when i first discovered it in it's entirety back in the days when i myself was struggling with my own demons this album very much helped me get out of my funk and make major moves like our friend here and make something of myself. Gone too soon but never ever forgotten. Rest in peace B.I.G

best rap album. ever. [4] Well, it's definitely one of them. Some of the filler near the end eliminates it from being THE best IMO.

This along with Illmatic are the greatest albums of all time. I'm gonna have to be honest here, although I like 2Pac better I like this album more than any of his albums.
