@ashdinosaur - Anti-fascist skinheads have existed for years (in fact since the beginning of the skins subculture). Also, the term 'red' refers to a socialist, left wing political ideology.

Anti-racist and yet they called themselves "Redskins." I'll be over there with the Native Americans scowling in your general direction.

2 Waagbistritz69: Well, I've always thought trotskyism is just a kinda marxist strand of syndicalism.. That's still hell of a difference from bolshevism, isn't it? ;) At least remember how had Leo ended up..

durvi> one of their songs was named "Lev Bronstein," that's a civil name of Leon Trotsky and I see trotskyism as a strand of bolshevism/leninism..

I saw them as a teenager, when they were playing a GLC/Victoria Gardens(?) event. I remember the crowd parting and a phalanx of right-wing skinheads came through the crowd, got on stage and proceeded to fight with the band. My main memory however is that as the crowd parted, my sister stood still because she had the coats of at least ten people (who were moshing at the front) with her, so they had to march round her, as she wasn't going to move!

I also think I have a better understanding now of the political climate that helped create the skinhead movement. And why so many Boneheads became Redskins and why certain socialists defected to Nationalism. Fascists, Socialists and Anarchists constantly walk a line of political extremes that political moderates don't. And it's easy to fall off of one wall to the other especially when one is constantly open minded and facing alienation.

That being said, I'm glad I released my Christian Leftism stance years ago. And became the Pagan I always wanted to be. That which I was always so in my heart. And opened my mind to Traditionalist, Tribalist, and Folk Pagan culture and Green Anarcho Heathenry and more AntiChristian viewpoints. Clearly I see the problems of Political Correctness plaguing the left. That being said, before I experimented with all this and opened my mind, I would have surely been more accepted within the Socialist Communities outside of last.fm, because now all I look like to them is a some kind of "fascist", racist Primmie, when I'm a Libertarian Left and that is clearly not the case. And I've grown a great appreciation for the Leftist Green Community here on last.fm who listens to Neofolk and Black Metal and it's afraid to offend people. I look back upon who I was years ago, and I see foolishness.

I find the whole association of leftism with anti-racism and rightism with racism and Nazism quite hilarious. And also the association of racists with Christianity. When I've seen quite a few Christian socialists, some of the most extreme anti-racists and anti-nazis. And I've seen more Nationalists anywhere else than in Germanic Heathenry. Not to mention it's becoming more and more common for the Nationalists to experiment with Leftist Politics, such as the BNP. With the idea that both internationalism and globalism work toward the end of destroying "white culture". Fascism has lost it's meaning amidst a bunch of Politically Correct politics now appropriated by the mainstream left. Fascist and Antifa mean so little anymore. I think that Socialists and Traditionalists alike need to shed themselves of these staunch misrepresentations of their labels.

To those who like to juggle with numbers. What for. Remember its PEOPLE who kill, not some political bullshit. You find the bad guys everywhere. I only doubt if i could find a good guy in the right wing? But if u like toplists, how about Christianity, they must be No. 1

I love the redskins since I first heard them. By the time I made my way to Europe in 87 I think they had broken up already. I did find a live CD that had all the hits and the disography left off the peel sessions LP that they did, plus a couple 12"'s. Good stuff. PS Fuck Nazis.

an amazing band with amazing potential and a historic landmark of an album left behind (along with countless sessions and b sides) I'll go a long stretch to say they cared more than my favorite band "the clash."

Redskins bring back best memories of the last summer holidays. I always want to dance, when I hear them.
