Small Time / Hey Hey We’re The Manqués is the second album by English indie band The Servants. Small Time was recorded 1991; released 2012. Its belated release followed the inclusion of 1990’s Disinterest album in Mojo magazine’s 2011 list of the greatest British indie records of all time.
Small Time was well received. Mojo said “It’s a sound and style that has to be heard, from a unique band that merits an instant reappraisal.” Record Collector said the album showed singer-songwriter “Westlake at his nervy, playful best.” PopMatters called Small Time “the darker counterpart” to Disinterest. AllMusic noted the album’s “wonderfully literate and off-kilter songcraft.”
