fucking genius dudes. even if not all of it is listenable, it's still so fucking out-there, chaotically dreamlike, ritualistic in a really primitive and 100% sincere way, and just so plain different from anything else i've ever heard that i can't help but praise them. sure their solo efforts may be more melodic and engaging to listen to, but just the sole fact that THIS was the starting point for these two teenager dudes is enough to realise that they had to be some sort of savants to just start making music and instantly arrive at something *this* hallucinatory and primordial. i wish they made some new music, James has said in some interviews a few years back that they have been considering doing that for a while so I hope that idea is not dead

"People need to stop smoking so much weed, get off the fucking internet a few minutes and realize this is completely talentless art-student garbage. If you like this music just buy a microphone, reverb pedal, a cheap casio keyboard, and a four track and just make it yourself. Then at least you don't have to spend any more money on other talentless people's records. Plus you'll be a more productive person. WOW!" Someone completely missed the point of psychedelic and experimental music.

lmao who the fuck wrote this description "The end result is not what you would expect — i.e., a pretentious, painfully dry avant-garde free-noise. Quite the opposite, it’s a totally out there, vocal-dominated psychedelia, based, structurally speaking, on the open-ended drone heard in industrial music, minimalism, experimental electronics, folk, world music, and free jazz. And, like the best free jazz — the early, fiery stuff: Trane, Ayler, Sanders — the Skaters’ noise-drenched cosmic soul is driven by their need to, in the words of Ferraro, “grasp something that is beyond what you can verbalize.”"
