Biography

Edmonton, AB Canada (2004 – present)

A group of musicians from Western Canada, come together to send peace and love through music, songs that will take you on trip to your depths and back.
The Sky Life began in a small, dingy old basement of a town house in the Strathcona area of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, a place known for it's, old age, classic pubs and vibrant music scene.
It was here that the 4 current members met up and commenced writing music. The songs became emotional snap shots of our lives prior to and during the writting. The songs tell about the sorrows of feeling stifled, not able to create and grow. We had all been looking for years for the right project to jump in on. The songs from this 2008 period are found on "Dimes and Discourses." The release of Dimes and Discourses was a large stepping stone towards work on our next album.
We shook the dust off those old walls everyday with our amps, drums and pianos, hammering away songs for the next album, songs that portrayed a new found energy. We were amazed at the possibilities for creation with all the new technology in music production. The album "Roots and Wings", recorded by Randor Lin at Turnkey studios, reflects the feelings of growth and possibility that was so present during that time. The album was picked up by the amazingly vigilant "Deep Elm records" and released in October of 2010.
The Sky Life is currently in the studio recording their 3rd full length album that is set for release in the summer of 2012. The mission of relating to the audience resonates strongly in the coming album.
