I actually really enjoyed it, people love to hate them because they don't sound like 20 years ago. (•́⍜•̀)

Bands doing a double album, it's a huge risk, some call it 'career suicide', but if it is pulled off, it becomes legendary. The Smashing Pumpkins did that in 1995 when they caught lightning in a bottle with "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness". For them to go on and do this album, (an even bigger album than Mellon Collie) at this stage of their career when let's be honest, their best days are long behind them, it is rather ludicrous. It's not bad music by any means, and there's a few moments where i took notice and thought 'hey this sounds cool' for a few seconds, but it's just way too long, too much filler, not enough substance, especially coming after another rather long ambitious album beforehand. Billy needs to cut out the 'yes men' and install some quality control.

For real. A lot of gems buried deep in this album. Probably a 5/10 album as a whole, but I'd give the second half a much higher rating, plus bonus points for the generosity. So maybe a 7 or 8.

Well I've been listening a lot and I love it! Such an epic work. Makes me think about what could have been with the Machinas (and hopefully still will be?!) if they'd been done as intended.

I think we're going to have a hard time agreeing what the actual tag is for this album.
