"Taken for a Fool" is a song by American rock-band The Strokes, mostly written by guitarist Nick Valensi. It is the second single for their fourth studio album, Angles, and was released as a 7" vinyl and digital download on July 1, 2011.
"Taken For A Fool" is a song about the vulnerability of being taken advantage of and feeling foolish. The lyrics address the listener's tendency to trust and be taken for granted, with the repeated line "You get taken all the time for a fool, I don't know why."
