The Paris Match originally appeared as a 1983 single and then on the EP Introducing the Style Council. The group re-recorded a slightly longer version of the song for their 1984 album Café Bleu, this time with Tracey Thorn of Everything But the Girl on lead vocals.
(Edits vary across releases and compilations, but generally speaking, the first, Weller-sung version is around 3:46 and the later, Tracey Thorn version runs around 4:26.)
