Biography

The never ending journey of the Ultimate Punishment Mobile began in late 2006 when Tuomo Lindholm, Timo Lindholm, Hannu Lindholm and Kimmo Palmgren had an idea that the world needs a different kind of punk rock band and them, and only them, had what it takes to form it.

The building of their own execution vehicle began with a series of whiskey fueled marathon sessions filled with the tunes by Ac/Dc, Rose Tattoo, the Ramones, Bad Religion, Motörhead and Social Distortion. These “play and drink until you drop and then play and drink some more” sessions climaxed in the band’s public introduction as the headliner of the Löözrock winter festival, November 11th, 2006. It was clear that the road, the punk and rock pioneers had laid, would be easy to walk, but it would be really hard to race.

TUpm’s first full length release First Blood – Part II (Boat Island Studios, 2010) was well received and proved that band possessed what was required to stand out as a different kind of punk band. It was pointed out by the critics, that tUpm’s unique way to use melodic guitar hooks and the sweet fragrance of the 50’s separates them from their punk rock rivals and role models. The efficiency of this combination became more evident when band released their Old Man’s Heart single and music video (Boat Island Studios 2011).

The findings from their 7 year expedition to the core essence of punk rock are now being presented in the form of band’s second full length album Bad Gasoline (Boat Island Studios, 2013). What can be said is that the punk rock patrol’s turn to rock somewhere around the 53rd and 3rd has been successful and lead them to a route to the satisfaction station.

Ladies & Gentlemen, start your engines the race is about to begin.
