One of the few metal bands where I welcome them re-recording their older songs as new versions. Not that there was anything wrong with the originals and I was skeptical of the 616 EP but it's indeed good stuff and in many parts better than the originals.

new jack of diamond clean vox is shit, it doesn't match with melody, he should sing it more powerful like roland. maybe ploblem with mastering, idk

I've been saying this for ages! That they need to at least remix & remaster & re-release Fragile Immortality and Hell Frost. Re-recording is surely welcome too.

I will say, though, that the lyrics of "Where Love Comes to Die" are horrific. The whole "our story was like the triiiiials of eurydice and orpheuuuus" part is absolute cringe. Also, in the very beginning it's very hard to unhear "did we grow together or as a deadly tuuuunaaaa" sorry in advance if I ruined this song for you but it's truly bad overall and the only real miss on the whole album

They got me with the Sonic oldies re-recordings. I'm feeling like a teenager again

Crown Prince Syndrome grew on me. Still not digging Never Yield. Father Shadow is very good otherwise. Especially Childhood's End, War of Oceans, Breach and Fate's Hand.

The new singles just aren't doing it for me and I loved Battle Royale. Well, Seth was pretty good but that's it.

I may be in the minority here but Roland was garbage in this project, the new guy is super good. I liked Roland in Sonic Syndicate but... yeah. ...and The Battle Royale is a pretty dope album!

Hell Frost and Battle Royale are my favorite albums but I like all of them really.

They still sound like The Unguided, I might even say they sound better! I kind of lowkey wanted to here them change the sound somewhat, because all the 3 first albums sounded very same-y. But they completely fixed that with the new vocalist. He really packs a great punch! Didn't expect that at all. :D

Wanting to spend more time with his family instead of touring with a band. I think that was mostly the reason.

Here's something I found, it's an EP with three Sonic Syndicate songs "covered". I put covered in quotation because Roger and Roland are involved and it's obviously Richard screaming (not alone, there's another screamer involved handling the screaming parts Roland and Nathan did on the originals). Anyways the songs are Rebellion in nightmare land, Heart of Eve and Freeman. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpg66pAHAJs&list=UUYNwtzJLpp1BD8tvbbvb49A

ill admit that Phobos Grip and Operation EAE are cool songs but the album as a whole is just a total snorefest. At least with Fragile Immortality the songs had a bit more punch to them than what I can hear on songs like King of Clubs, Heartseeker, Hate (And Other Triumphs), and The Worst Day (Revisited).

Imo, Lust And Loathing was a huge step up from Fragile Immortality. Fragile Immortality was boring, and their claims about how it was more experimental and different and outside their comfort zone was obviously not true, considering nearly all the songs sounded like rejected Hell Frost songs with way more synths. This new album actually sounds different. The choruses are way better as well. Just all around a catchy album. Yeah, it's more easy listen than the previous album, but if the songwriting is better, who cares? That's why -- in the end -- We Rule The Night was still better than Sonic Syndicate's self titled (5th) album. And I'm saying that as someone who absolutely despised that album with every fiber of my being when it first came out.

The big problem with the self titled was the choruses. Almost all the choruses on that album were mediocre at best and just plain bad at worst. I can only recall maybe four songs that I think had decent -- not good, but just decent -- choruses. WIth only one chorus I REALLY like. That's bad. The verses are awesome on that album, as are the intros, but when what is supposed to be the peak engagement to end the verses and song as a whole falls flat, it makes the whole song fall flat overall. And that was the case with most of the tracks on the self titled. WRTN didn't have that problem, and thus despite the fact that I hated it when it first came out, I've actually grown to appreciate it for what it is a lot more since then. Especially considering SoSy's latest output, Confessions. Now I desperately wish they would go back to at least the WRTN style... Just not what they are now...

I completely disagree about the choruses but I've stated that here before. I'm not sure should I even bother to listen Confessions. Start A War wasn't bad but it wasn't good either, it was boring. If the rest of the album is the same the band is not for me anymore.

These guys are just getting worse and worse as it goes. Hell Frost was nothing very interesting but it was still catchy, Fragile Immortality was just boring and now Lust and Loathing is just bad...like We Rule the Night bad. Shame because I saw some promise going on with Mercy and Judgement from the Fallen Angels EP (which are their two best songs along with Inherit the World).

But about The Unguided. Many of the choruses seem a bit underwhelming on Lust and Loathing. Overall though I'm liking it.
