The first half is great and then you have the beautiful vocal breakdown in the middle and then when the second half drops, you just lose your shit. Those crashing drums and the bass on the second half are mindblowing, it sounds like some drugged out tribal shit. The fact that the whole song is a freestyle, well that just shows you how talented The Weeknd is. One of his greatest songs for sure.

I'm obsessed with those melancholy ice-cream truck bells. This song is so haunting like almost everything Abel does.

Woaah what's with the unpleasantness. I like this song but everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Ever since I learned that this was a freestyle, this has become my favorite song of his. I mean it must be difficult as hell to vocally freestyle as well as he did (for 8 minutes), fucking pure talent.

Okay, don't get me wrong. It's a good song, and it's among the best moments in Thursday. I just think the songwriting doesn't live up to the production (kinda like XO in EoS). Thursday is already filled with lots of moaning, so it gets slightly too heavy when you get to this song.

Kind annoys me when people complain about lack of songwriting/decent lyrics in most of these songs Abel Tasfeye puts out, but when it comes to other artists that also experiment with samples and loops such as The Avalanches people don't care about the lack of lyrics they let it slide due to the melodies, the unique and intricate sounds and the layers of emotion in each song. Sure The Avalanches used almost 3,500 vinyl samples so there's a huge difference but I mean no one questions their songwriting ability.

samhal, you're clueless imho. Music about expression. Words are not absolutely necessary. [2]
