"Pray For Me" is a collaboration between R&B crooner The Weeknd and rapper Kendrick Lamar. The song is the 14th and final track on the soundtrack of Marvel's highly anticipated film Black Panther. This is their 2nd collaboration since the track "Sidewalks" on The Weeknd's Starboy (2016).
The song was released February 2nd, 2018 and has been the promotional track behind the movie's teasers promoted on television and other media. Black Panther's official release was February 16th and gathered huge success becoming the 9th highest grossing film of all time. The song was featured in the movie, in the scene where Black Panther, Nakia and Okoye enter a casino in Busan.
The song debuted at #7 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart the week of Feb. 17, 2018. This became The Weeknd’s seventh Hot 100 top 10 song and Kendrick Lamar’s sixth.
The song was written by the two musicians with the help from Doc McKinney and Frank Dukes.
The bop became certified platinum May 14, 2018 and peaked at #3 on US Radio.
