The Wonder Stuff always lived in the margins for me growing up, the band from the same town at Ned's and the Poppies, and I loved some songs but they were never a huge favorite and all of that has changed now and I personally want to apologize to Miles for my low Wonder Stuff listen count as of 2023 and to assure him that my goal in 2024 is to just blow it out of the water, get them in my Top 10 of all time, actively make up for lost time, for long-gone days where I could have been listening to "Red Berry Joy Town" and "Play" and "Golden Green" and "No For the 13th Time" while driving with the windows down through some godforsaken small American town but was instead listening to something else and I also want to tell Miles that "Don't You Ever" is a fuckin' goddamn glorious piece of artwork and there ain't enough superlatives to cover it.

The Hup album gig at Shepherds Bush Empire on Saturday night was totally awesome.

Absoloutely superb and sadly forgotten by many. 'Here comes everyone' is my favourite. I used to watch that documentay Welcome To The Cheap Seats constantly as a kid. That's where my music obsession first started.

The Stuffies have re-recorded their entire debut album for it's 20th anniversary - the new version of The Eight Legged Groove Machine is available on their website now, limited to 2000 copies.

I loved & followed the Stuffies as much as i could back in the day, at least 20+ gigs, even went to Dusseldorf with a load of brits on one of those gig ticket, bus & hotel packages when they were touring with The Mission. Lost interest after 'Never Loved Elvis' which is a mostly dreadful album apart from 3 or 4 tracks. Then they split cos Miles wanted to do his solo thing (Vent 414 - sank without a trace). Not intersted in seeing them again (unlike Poppies reunion or even Ned's for that matter), especially after the various website squabbles with various ex band members dissassociating themselves from the newer version. Last i saw, the reunion gigs haven't sold out, so it's not just me that isn't interested. Great memories but definately one to be left in the past. It's amazing what some people do for money, i can remember Miles telling people to F*ck Off when they shouted for songs from the 1st album, and that was on the Hup tour!!! RIP Rob & Martin.

Yeah they were one of my most-loved bands too for a very long time and will always be although I don't listen to them much anymore, but maybe I should, come to think of it. If I only had the time...

No offence, but the classic line-up should probably be the one in the pic. The new tunes are pretty good, but seriously, everyone is always going to associate TWS with the early nineties version.

I think we need to make a concerted effort to get the default image changed to one of the current line up. Click here.
