"Emotive, dark and heart-felt. All adjectives that describe the solo material of the talented Belasco front man Tim Brownlow.
After deals with City Slang, Vertigo and Supermusic, Belasco’s music has found itself in Hollywood movies, mulit-millions selling video games ( FIFA Soccer), cult TV series ( four tracks in One Tree Hill for example) and massive compilations alongside the likes of Blur, Athlete, Radiohead and Nick Cave.
With four albums under his belt with this critically acclaimed band, Tim steps into the limelight with a stripped down acoustic collection of beautifully simple tracks showcasing the quality of his songwriting.
The EP entitled ‘Behind Dark Trees’, was produced by up and coming young talent Richie Kayvan with a track record built working with the likes of Owen Morris (Oasis) and John Cornfield (Supergrass). Kayvan creates sublime layers of atmospheric soundscapes and pianos, laying down a perfect back drop for Brownlow’s tender guitars and distinctive vocals.
Tim has cut his teeth in the live arena with Belasco appearances at European festivals such as Isle Of Wight (UK), Haldern and Bochum Total (Germany), Alive (Belgium) and Music In My Head (Holland) with the likes of PJ Harvey, Cardigans, Paul Weller, Iggy Pop, Bright Eyes and Patti Smith.
‘Behind Dark Trees’ is an intimate, edgy and personal collection of songs. There are shades of Jeff Buckley and classic British singer songwriters Nick Drake and Roy Harper. This is dark and honest folky, rootsy stuff bonded with uber modern production. “behind dark trees” sounds fresh and dangerous and could elevate Tim Brownlow into the premier league of male singer songwriters."
