Biography
TONICA is an emerging duo from the Manchester, UK, are looking to create a new musical chapter with their vibrant brand of alt-pop. their music encompasses a contemporary, hook-heavy, electronic sound with a dark, mysterious edge that brings something new to the table with their hook laden songs.
Consisting of Amory (singer, songwriter, guitarist) and Sam (songwriter, instrumentalist, producer). TONICA was formed off the back of a mutual love of dark and delicious stadium alt pop, the duo are experts at crafting sublime songs and visuals that lead to a world of neon, late nights and infinite possibilities.
In terms of musical inspiration, TONICA are heavily influenced by classic 80s synth & alternative bands such as Depeche Mode, The Cure & Soft Cell. Amory & Sam also list contemporary acts Joan, Lauv, The Neighbourhood & The Weeknd as current influences.
Many of TONICA’s songs encapsulate ideas of the romantic and melodramatic, giving them a certain cinematic feel that reflects their self-labelled ‘neon-noir’ stylings.
