I understand everyone has bills to pay and dreams to fulfill that are made easier when you have money. Yet I still find the downfall of Tycho one of the saddest things that happened in the post-chillwave world. He had so much potential to become another heavy weight of modern electronic music, but all that talent went into trying to make money by spitting pop, formulaic, repetitive and daft music for the masses.

Adrift is still the best song I've ever heard. The atmosphere in that song is incredible.

Tycho has become a prisoner of his own style... Simulcast is yet another generic Tycho album, nothing special and nothing remarkable there.

It’s quality fan service after releasing an album that went so far against their usual style that the fanbase backlashed. It’s fine if Simulcast does nothing for you personally, but it’s pretty debatable to accuse them of playing it too safe after 2019’s Weather.

From what I’ve seen, yeah. All facets of their social media were (politely) cluttered with comments about how they need to go back to being instrumental, how the vocals are too distracting, etc. I really don’t hate Weather... but it is decidedly not a Tycho record in my eyes (or ears).

I mean, if you guys are cool with it, maybe we can just pretend Weather isn’t cannon? Simulcast is everything I could ask for from 2020 Tycho.

Still here enjoying your lovely sounds since the very first begining, I have to say Dictaphone's lament is my favorite track from you, forever

I have to say, at first I did not like the new Tycho album. But as time as passed....it's a bit different now. I think it helps that he featured the same artist on all the featured songs. So it still feels like the album is a cohesive narrative just like his previous works. Granted, I will always prefer the trilogy (Dive, Awake and Epoch); I feel like now that time as passed, Weather has earned its place on my playlist. It's a decent album.

New album isn't bad imo. Hopefully some instrumental versions of the songs with vocals come out. I think the vocals should be alternate versions where the instrumentals are the main focus.

There is indeed a full album instrumental rework coming out in the next few months. Keep your eyes peeled. What's better is that it's not just the current album with the vocals gutted out, but rather fresh mixes and arrangements from Scott and the gang.

The current mix of For How Long with that bassline and beat, but sans the vocals would be 🔥🔥🔥. Maybe with a few tweaks here and there too.

There’s an instrumental retake on the whole album that’s dropping in a few months, for everyone dissatisfied with the emphasis on vocals. I’d check it out before writing off Tycho forevermore. I think the new album is a breezy, fun listen but it’s more pop than Tycho and probably could’ve been placed under a different (collaborative) name. I don’t hate it but it’s also not signature Tycho to me.

Really loving the new album. Awake will always be my favorite, but always excited when this dude releases new music.

What's wrong with Tycho? He's been on a downhill since "Dive". His songs are getting predictable and formulaic, some border lining cheesy pop. "Weather" is really disappointing.
