U Can Unlearn Guitar smashes lots of guitars, sings songs like Donovan.
Andy Unlearny was born in Corning New York and grew up in central PA. It was reportedly not in the middle of nowhere, but nowhere was visible from his back yard. U Can Unlearn Guitar was formed in New York City, NY way back in 1999 when Unlearny, La Persona of the Bunny Brains, and struggling punk folk singer Andrew Marshall Alper performed at the Legendary Miami Phi-Phenomenon. A year later at the now infamous Miami Heatstroke Festival, Unlearny anounced that he had ousted the other two members. He claimed that he kicked them out because they refused to "Really let loose." Most in attendance, including show organizer and Noise Rock Maztermind, Rat Bastard, were surprised to learn of the split, since U Can Unlearn Guitar always appeared to be a one man operation.
U Can Unlearn Guitar has played with such greats as Cock ESP, Costas, Mouthpet and more. U Can Unlearn Guitar, in cahoots with Elyse Perez and Rat Bastard organized the very first INC (International Noise Conference) which has since grown into an annual event, a touring noise show, and a situation comedy starring Frank Falestra and Joyce DeWitt.
Unlearny began playing music in college and soon joined The Bunnybrains, and stopped playing music. The Bunnybrains were originally invited to play the Miami Phi-phenomenon, but La Persona hid the invitation in his Q-Chord Case, telling bandmates the flyer was sheet music, which he knew none could read, and would have no interest in. Dan Bunny or Eg the Poet and his Daughter have since appeared on various UCUG recordings.

A long time supporter and ex lover of UCUG, Cock ESP member Emil Hagstrom, also created a website for UCUG that can be found here. http://unlearny.com/ The site is said to have remained the same since Hagstrom's 2002 efforts, as an erotic tribute to their amorous adventures. Others insist that Unlearny just doesn't know how to change it. That site includes early collaborations with former child star and private school chum, Jon Gintzler, the artist and shirt treatment expert from Los Angeles.
Unlearny is currently investigating getting his guitars repaired for an album of songs with lyrics.
