This is one of the songs that inspired me to pick up a pair of drumsticks. Thank you, U2, I love being behind the kit.

Phenomenal song! One of U2's best. This, Sunday Bloody Sunday, New Year's Day, One and All I Want Is You are my favorite U2 songs. Can't believe this wasn't on their Best of 1980-1990 CD, there was enough room for it.

Maybe because of the socio-political references in the lyrics. This song is, no doubt, U2 at it's political best along with "Sunday Bloody Sunday". My personal choice would've been to include this one or "Van Diemen's Land" instead of "Angel of Harlem", which is a great song but it lacks the punch of this one or the uniqueness of "Van Diemen's Land".

It is by far my favorite U2 song as well, but like the studio version far better than the live version I am hearing.

Man I hate Bono, but even I have to admit his vocals are fucking awesome on this.

As a man breathes into a saxophone, and through the walls you hear the city groan - outside is America.
