Biography
"The debut album from Cross Hills/Skipton band Unfinished Drawings has an impressive pedigree. If You Can't Do It Yourself, Do It for Me was produced by the Happy Mondays' producer Steve Fenton. One CD, recorded at Calder Studios in Mytholmroyd in 2005, will raise cash for St Gemma's Hospice in Leeds. The band said: "The hospice is a place close to the heart of singer/guitarist Toby Burras, his Auntie Caroline enjoyed a stay there before her untimely death in September 2005. We aimed to raise £5000, enough to buy an "air" bed for the hospice and sponsor another three". Unfinished Drawings formed 10 years ago after the break-up of Toby and ex guitarist Tom Perou's band Everyday Formula. They performed as a two-piece, recruited drummer Matt Doherty, then replaced him with cellist Steph Boyle." They supported Feeder before parting where Toby continued to write and produce his own music.
Now, in 2013 Toby is solo but still going by the name 'Unfinished Drawings' and plays many gigs in York and Leeds. He is also rather famous in York for Busking in the city centre. Some of his more recent music includes drum and bass and dubstep, while others are of the acoustic type.
