Biography

In the beginning there was…. No, forget the fiery genesis of this paltry planet – for a real Big Bang you need the Bavarian blitz that is “USE TO ABUSE”. This five-piece have spent 12 years stoking the fires of punk’n’roll and leaving nothing but scorched earth, burning bodies and broken hearts in their wake. Anyone who has had the pleasure of partying with the boys (and has lived to tell the tale …) knows what I mean. In 1996, with “Scream For Another Way”, they released their first 10” - which sold out overnight. Two further 7” releases followed in 1996 and 1999, earning them cult status among the rock cognoscenti. The packaging was also a hit. … who else would have made a cover out of sandpaper? Even in these early releases, you can hear their burning blend of punk and rock’n’roll. But that’s hardly surprising for a band which cites amongst its influences not only The Boys, The Sonics and Reagan Youth, but also AC/DC and Motörhead. Then, in April 2001, the fires began to spread, as USE TO ABUSE’s first album “It’s All About Nothing” was released on Hulk Räckorz (www.punk.de). But for a truly incendiary sound, you need a little gasoline, right? The jerry cans got kicked into the flames in November 2002, when USE TO ABUSE released their second album "Nothing Left To Lose” (also on Hulk Räckorz). Following that release, USE TO ABUSE torched Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic and Hungary; together with major tours with the Angry Samoans (USA) and the Troublemakers (SE). But that’s enough about the past! After two long years of hard work in their own “Kalkwerk Studios”, the new album is finally finished since 2006: "Jesus Made My Rock'n'Roll" is its name, XNO Records (www.xno.net) is its home.
