Yeah...and imagine what 42 y/o music sounded like in 1978. Van Halen was indeed ahead of their time! heh

This edition (pressing) sounds excellent re-mastered by Steve Hoffman | https://s5.postimg.org/4sap6gahj/Label-1.jpg | https://s5.postimg.org/n6l8ao7fb/Van_Halen_-_Van_Halen_DR_Value.png

Awesome album. Used to think this was a tad overrated, but then I got the remastered box set. Wow, jaw-dropping stuff. Eddie Van Halen's reputation as a guitar maestro is well-deserved. This debut put him right up there with Ritchie Blackmore, Tony Iommi, Jimmy Page, Robert Fripp and Buck Dharma as the greatest guitarists alive.

I'm not here to debate the talents of Nick Jonas and Lil Wayne, but I do not believe that they were alive in 1979.

"On Fire", "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love", "Atomic Punk" and "Little Dreamer"... my favorite tracks off this legendary album. Such a classic!

One of the best debut albums in Rock history. "Eruption" announces to the world the arrival of one of the greatest guitar players of all time alive. Then you have all the other classics ("Runnin' with the Devil," the covers of "You Really Got Me" and "Ice Cream Man," "the bitter and pissed-off "Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love"... hell, most of these tracks are classics). This record is brimming with confidence, energy and showmanship, all of which are exceptionally rare for a group's debut and most of which is thanks to the band members' talent and their already having been together for several years cutting their teeth as a live bar/party band. Oh, and the punk-y "Atomic Punk" is one of my favorite tracks here.
