in what way are these songs even comparable, it would make sense like it's compared to other Led Zepp songs like Black Dog, or Heartbreaker, or Whole lotta love, not stairway

When the royalties from Van Halen’s recording of "Ice Cream Man" came through, they enabled him to open John Brim’s House of the Blues Broadway Nite Club in Chicago https://secure.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/wiki/John_Brim

Dave used to piss Eddie off when he would butcher the acoustic part in concert. This song is soooooooooooooooo much better than anything Van Hagar put out, it's sickening. Note to Edward: Deflate you oversized head, tune your guitar back to E flat and put out something that matters to your fans, not the losers you were trying to sell to with that 5150 garbage. And why is there no shout from Scotty? What up Scotty?

@switch625DL It's indeed an old John Brim's song http://www.lastfm.es/music/John+Brim/_/Ice+Cream+Man Great version by Van Halen anyway!

this one of their best songs but I have to say that the original from Screaming Jay Hawkins is much more over the top.....
