Variant, the brainchild of Devin Ingelido (vocals), came to fruition in early 2019 after a period of musical introspection following his time as bassist in the emo-pop act, versaemerge (Fueled by Ramen/Atlantic) through the late 2000s. Trusting that music was never out of his future, Ingelido selected an ideal time in early 2019 to jump back into the scene - this time headfirst into the metal genre with the new venture: Variant. Ingelido’s solo status did not last long, however, before initially teaming to co-write the project’s first single, “Devil” (March, 2019), with a close friend and colleague - now current producer for the band - Javi Melo of JMelo Recordings in South Florida. Together, these talented minds pressed beyond the mainstream sonic and crafted the unique foundation and ferocity of what current listeners know Variant’s sound to be. The act’s second single, “Leech” arrived quickly on “Devil”’s heels in April 2019, sparking an agreement with Pinup Artist Management
