Wafeek (www.wafeek.com) is a St. Louis, Missouri born, Los Angeles based emcee who "does it for the streets, freeks and geeks."
He’s got a virtuoso soul capable of connecting with folks from corners, clubs and cafés. He’s a loudmouth like Luda, a lyricist à la Lupe and a dope-smokin’ dude like Devin.
Wafeek does it for the streets. He spits with the swagger of a street-scholar, sleeping with the facts and dreaming up the fiction. He chronicles hustle, struggle and hood ambition with biting honesty and extraordinary empathy.
Wafeek does it for the freeks. The man loves women, all of em’, his momma, his auntie, and every girl in the club. He’s a player with a heart of gold; tricking one minute and tender another, dissing dumb girls and connecting with women’s rights, celebrating single life and lamenting lost love all at once.
Wafeek does it for the geeks. Because he wasn’t always this cool. Wafeek’s heart-in-hand mentality, self-effacing humor, and dorky tendencies are deliverance for a hip-hop audience who’s already heard about diamonds, dope and dubs. He’s a 21st century MC, a rhyming, blogging, friend-adding, beat-jacking, You-Tubing, show stealing, money makin’ honey takin’ motherfucker.
