Actually Preußen translates to Prussia, not Prussian. Prussian is either Preuße (a Prussian resident) or Preußisch (something that is Prussian). And yes, non-German people like to mix up ß with b. In Germany, the ß is described as a "sharp s", but for the record it's just pronounced like an s.
