Brilliant album. Pink Flag and Chairs Missing are maybe the best first and second album combination any group has ever had. If not, they're still both amazing records.

Just listened to this last night from beginning to end... twice. I had to keep reminding myself this was recorded in 1978. More than 30 years on, there is still nothing on this album that would date it to the late 70s, 90s or even 00s. Not to my ears. Absolutely incredible.

Less coherent as a statement and darker than Pink Flag, but the they are showing their more inventive and atmospheric side, making this actually a prototype for indie and post-rock at some points. Still, I prefer the debut.
