There is more than one artist with the name Wisp.
1. Wisp (Reid Dunn) comes from Niagara Falls, New York. He makes electronic music that spans many genres, from jungle and experimental drum n bass to ambient and downtempo electronica. Nostalgic computer games bear an influence on his music. He began releasing music for free in 2003, in the form of mp3s on netlabels, but has since been signed to Sublight Records, and more recently (2008) he signed with Rephlex. His free mp3 releases are, however, still available on The Wisp Archive
He has other releases under the names RWD and Dwaalicht.
2. Wisp (AKA whirrwhore) whose real name is Natalie R. Lu, is a 19 year old (born on 08/06/2004) shoegaze artist based in San Francisco, California. Bands such as Whirr, Julie, Slowdive, My Bloody Valentine, and Panchiko (which she recently went on tour with) have a heavy influence on Wisp's extensive use of guitar effects blended with her muffled vocal melodies.
Wisp, who started releasing music on SoundCloud, recently celebrated her first year since her debut with her first EP Pandora. Her TikTok can be found at @i_am_wisp_ohyeah and her Instagram at @whirrwhoreforlyfe.
3. wisp (AKA hexd, ghastlyup) is a Digicore/hyperpop, jersey club, dariacore, and rock artist from the United States. They released their debut album Brumal on the 17th of November, 2023.
4. Wisp is an atmospheric black metal / funeral doom side project of Joe Hawker (aka Ethereal Shroud).
