Biography
Writhe UK are an alternative indie rock band formed in Holloway, London. The original line-up consisted of Eddie Turjan (vocals, guitar), Alfie Casan (lead guitar, bass), Dave Hutt (rhythm guitar), and Roland (drums). Their style of music might be described as melodic lo-fi grunge, with a bunch of extremely laid-back chilled-out stoner stuff thrown in, which, according to Melody Maker mag, is "ideal for taking smack to, on a waterbed…". Influences include: Velvet Underground, Doors, Beatles, Byrds, Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine, Killing Joke, Joy Division, Sigur Ros, early Pink Floyd, Burzum and Dinosaur Jr. Alfie and Dave are no longer with the band - Eddie is the sole-surviving member and is currently based at London Bridge, London.
