"America", written by Paul Simon and originally recorded by Simon & Garfunkel, was covered by the progressive rock band Yes in the 1970s. An edited version of the band's cover, clocking in at around four minutes, was released as a single, while the full version, which runs for around ten and a half minutes, has been released in various configurations throughout the years. It is available on several of the band's box sets and compilations, as well as being a bonus track on the 2003 release of the band's album Fragile and the 2013 release of the band's album Close to the Edge. The song has also been performed live on several tours; a recording of one of them is available on the band's 1996 release Keys to Ascension.
While not identical, Yes' arrangement of the song has been compared to that of earlier progressive rock band 1-2-3's, which is available on a compilation of their recordings as Clouds entitled Up Above Our Heads (Clouds 1966-71).
