Thug teams up with Juice WRLD on “Mannequin Challenge” for their third official collaboration, following 2018’s “Red Bentley” and 2019’s “ON GOD,” both tracks of Juice’s that Thug featured on.
On the track, the two proudly share their glamorous lives, with expensive cars and money. Thug also hints at his struggles with the law, stating his annoyance towards the judges, which could be bringing light to his feelings about his arrest after a failed drug test.
The track’s title references the viral Mannequin Challenge of 2016, which was a dance craze where anyone listening to the introduction of the Rae Sremmurd track “Black Beatles” would freeze, and could move after the introduction finished.
Juice WRLD, in an interview with GQ, hinted that this song would have been on a collaboration tape featuring Young Thug. Cam Wolf, the interviewer for GQ, revealed some of Juice’s lyrics in this track during the interview according to a Genius article months before the release.
