Biography
YOUTHINASIA is a highly entertaining and aggressive Canadian progressive punk band. Relentlessly DIY, inspiring and epic in their live show and wildly hilarious as seen in the band's off-stage "Webisodes". This winter will mark the tenth anniversary of YOUTHINASIA playing shows, writing, recording and living+breathing music. Let this be celebrated with the release of a self-produced/engineered 6 song sampler that will be the predecessor of a full length album to be released in spring 2010. After a two year hiatus of personal development/success/demon destroying and head-clearing, YIA is stronger than ever. New members and a new resolve institute a full and more progressive sound via three guitarist and the addition of piano and violin, all performed by the 5 multi-instrumentalist members of the new YIA. Optimism ran high last month when the band played their return hometown show which drew a sold out crowd that devoured every last piece of merchandise the band had to offer. September/October has the band scheduled in their home studio to complete their untitled sampler which will be available for free download in late October/Early november. Following the completion of said sampler expect a gluttonous amount of regional shows for winter 2009/2010 and a spring 2010 international tour schedule/album release.
