"If I Can't Have You" is a disco song written by Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb in 1977. The song initially appeared on the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack in a version by Yvonne Elliman. It was released in December of 1977 as the fourth single from that album. "If I Can't Have You" reached the top of the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 on May 13th of 1978. It was a top ten hit in the UK (#4), Australia (#9), and France (#5).
The Bee Gees recorded their own version of the song and added it as a B-side to their #1 song "Stayin' Alive." Another cover version of the song by Kim Wilde was released in 1993. It reached #12 in the UK and #3 in Australia.
